This course provides second-year students with foundational knowledge and practical skills in Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), a gentle, non-invasive massage technique that supports the body’s lymphatic and immune systems. Students will explore the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system, indications and contraindications of MLD, and the role of this modality in both clinical and wellness settings.
Through a combination of lecture and hands-on practice, students will learn basic MLD techniques, proper hand movements, rhythm, pressure, and direction, with an emphasis on maintaining safety and effectiveness. Topics will also include lymphatic pathways, drainage patterns, edema management, and the integration of MLD into treatment plans for post-surgical care, inflammation, and detoxification.
This course prepares students to incorporate MLD principles into a variety of therapeutic settings
